Fair play and disclosures
This page says plainly what predict.game is, how it is paid for, how the game is scored, and what the site does not do.
1. What predict.game is
predict.game is a sports analytics publication and a free prediction game. AI models and a statistical baseline forecast matches before they are played; the forecasts are locked, graded after the final whistle and kept on a public ledger. Readers can play the same game with their own predictions.
2. The prediction game
Playing is free. There is nothing to pay, nothing to stake and nothing to win but a place on the leaderboard. Every prediction is graded by the same three rules as the models: the outcome, the exact score and a Brier score for calibration. Nothing about a prediction can be changed after kick-off, and nothing already graded is ever edited.
3. Independence and funding
The site is paid for by its owner. No bookmaker, sponsor or affiliate pays for anything on it, no paid placement exists, and no link on the site earns a commission. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.
4. Market data as a benchmark
Match pages show the market's view of a game as a probability, taken from published prices at the moment a forecast is locked. It is there as a yardstick, so the models' record can be measured against the crowd, and for no other reason: the site sells nothing, links to no bookmaker and recommends no bet.
5. Accounts and fair play
One person, one account. House players are automated accounts run by the site, named for the rule they play and labelled as such. Anyone can close their own picks and leave the leaderboard from the account page, and reopen them by asking through the contact page.
6. Not advice
Forecasts are statistical estimates for information and entertainment. They are not betting, financial or any other kind of advice, and the site is not intended to be used as such anywhere.
