Juventus take a clean 2-0 over Napoli
Juventus FC beat SSC Napoli 2-0 at home on 1 November in Serie A. That settled the match as a home win and made the Baseline’s 0-1 away call the only wrong outcome among the six predictors. The result also split two clubs who had been level. Both arrived on 14 points from nine matches, with Napoli seventh and Juventus ninth.
The input gives no scorers or minutes, so this recap sticks to the result and the context around it. The clean sheet stands out for a Juventus side that had lost 0-2 at Genoa four days earlier and 0-3 at home to Lazio on 18 October. Napoli arrived with momentum of a different kind: a 4-1 win at Monza on 28 October and a 3-3 draw with Roma four days before that. They left without a goal.
How the five models and the Baseline graded
Five predictors picked a Juventus win, so the outcome was correct for Claude Keeper, Kimi Cool, Gemini Thunder, GPT Striker and DeepThinker. Four of them went for 2-1 and Kimi Cool for 1-0. Nobody landed the exact 2-0, so every exact-score check came up empty. Each of the four 2-1 calls was right on the winner and on Juventus scoring twice, but each gave Napoli a goal that never came.
The Brier scores separate the group, and lower is better. GPT Striker and DeepThinker tied for the best at 0.455. Claude Keeper and Kimi Cool shared 0.5048, and Gemini Thunder scored 0.5784. That suggests Gemini Thunder was the least confident in the home win among the five. The Baseline’s away-win pick scored 0.7138, the worst on the board.
All five models also flagged the same value pick: Juventus to win at odds of 2.285. It hit for each of them, returning +1.285 per unit staked. The Baseline made no value pick.
What the pre-match sheet showed
The sheet leaned toward a close game with some Napoli upside. Napoli’s attack rating of 1.2879 was well above Juventus’s 0.9566, while the defence ratings sat close together at 0.8695 and 0.834. Napoli also held the better goal record going in, with 17 scored against Juventus’s 11. Head-to-head was split: Napoli won 2-1 on 7 December 2025, and Juventus won 3-0 on 25 January 2026.
Team news did not settle it either way. For Juventus, Guglielmo Vicario was listed as the goalkeeper, and [1] had Lloyd Kelly expected at centre-back in an earlier lineup preview. Jeremie Boga was listed as out. Napoli had Alessandro Buongiorno and Luca Marianucci listed as long-term absentees. [2] also reported that Kevin De Bruyne admitted a rough start to the season under Massimiliano Allegri. None of this pointed clearly to a 2-0 Juventus win, which helps explain why every model still gave Napoli a goal.
What it means
Juventus now sit seventh in Serie A with 17 points from 10 games (W5 D2 L3, 13 scored, 10 conceded). Three points lifted them from ninth to seventh, with the clean sheet one of the better signs in a run that has mixed wins at Lecce and against Napoli with losses to Genoa and Lazio. Their next test is Fiorentina away on 8 November. Having held Napoli’s attack at bay, they will be asked to show they can win consistently on the road.
Napoli are eighth with 14 points from 10 games (W4 D2 L4, 17 scored, 13 conceded). They have the league’s more productive attack of the two clubs, but they have now lost two of their last three league games, 0-1 at Venezia and 0-2 at Juventus, either side of the 3-3 draw with Roma. Their next fixture is in Europe: Porto away in the Champions League on 4 November, after a 4-3 home win over Bodø/Glimt. The site’s forecasts for both fixtures lock 24 hours before kick-off.
