Situation Breakdown & Analysis
As reported by the Official Manchester United Website, defender Lisandro Martínez was left out of the matchday squad against Everton. While Manchester United reconfigured their backline to compensate for his missing ball-progression skills, Everton failed to capitalize due to severe structural inefficiencies under manager Sean Dyche. Currently sitting 19th in the Premier League table with a troubling LLLWL form record, Everton's compact 4-4-1-1 low-block system continues to struggle at both ends of the pitch.
Through their opening three fixtures, Everton have managed just two goals while conceding ten, resulting in an alarming 1.85 xGA per game against a meager 1.05 xG per game generated. The continued absence of key defenders Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson deprives Dyche of the physical aerial presence required to make his direct tactical setup effective. Even without Martínez anchoring United's defensive build-up, Everton lacked the creative quality to punish their opponents, underscoring a heavy reliance on low-probability set-piece headers.
Predict.game's simulation models project Everton's expected points trajectory to remain suppressed until key defensive personnel return. Unless Dyche can stabilize a defensive profile currently yielding high-margin chances to opposition attackers, Everton will remain heavy underdogs in upcoming match simulations.
