3 Important Points today vs Venezia 💙 #Como1907 #SerieA Como 1907 ·

In short

  • Como sit 4th with 20 points from 9 games and have won their last three in Serie A.
  • Venezia are 20th with 3 points, one win and 19 goals conceded in nine matches.
  • The Poisson baseline gives Como a 76.7% win chance, with a most likely score of 2-0.

Como arrive in form at the Sinigaglia

Como 1907 host Venezia FC at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia on 1 November (11:30 UTC) in round 10 of Serie A, and the table makes this look lopsided. Cesc Fàbregas’ team are fourth with 20 points from nine games: six wins, two draws and one defeat. They have scored 17 and conceded only 8.

The recent run backs that up. Como won 3-1 at Torino on 27 October and 2-0 at home to Sassuolo three days before. Before that came a 3-1 win at Fiorentina on 18 October, which makes it three straight league wins. A goalless draw with Roma on 11 October sits just before that run. The one blemish is a 2-0 defeat at Frosinone on 20 September, which accounts for the L at the end of their WWWDL form string.

The site’s ratings point the same way. Como’s attack rating is 1.345 and their defence rating is 0.7461, on a sample of 20 matches. That fits a side that scores freely and rarely concedes. One small selection note: [1] reported that Yan Couto pulled out of the warm-up at Fiorentina and was replaced by Ivan Smolcic, so right-back is worth watching. Como still won that game comfortably.

Venezia: bottom of the table and short of bodies

Venezia’s season has been the opposite. They are 20th with 3 points from nine games: one win, eight defeats, six goals scored and 19 conceded. Their form string reads LLWLL, and the single win came on 17 October, a 1-0 home victory over Napoli.

That game was also the first in charge for Davide Nicola, according to [2], which describes him as Venezia’s head coach. The sheet’s coach field still lists Giovanni Stroppa, who [3] said had kept his job after the 3-1 defeat at Atalanta on 12 October. Nicola’s first game was a win over Napoli, but the next two brought a 1-0 loss at Genoa on 25 October and a 2-0 home defeat to Inter on 28 October. Venezia scored in only one of their last four matches.

The injury list adds to the problem. [4] lists Marin Šverko, Thierry Correia, Andrea Adorante and Bartol Franjić as long-term absentees. Armel Bella-Kotchap was also ruled out in [5]‘s Napoli line-up report. There are small positives: Akor Adams and Antoine Hainaut have both scored this season. John Yeboah, however, missed a penalty against Lazio. Venezia’s defence rating of 1.3427 (higher meaning more goals leaked) matches the 19 conceded.

What the models say

The predictions are unusually unanimous. The Poisson baseline, built from recorded results, expects 2.42 goals for Como against 0.64 for Venezia. It gives Como a 76.7% chance of winning, a 15.3% chance of a draw and 8.0% for an away win. Its most likely score is 2-0, and it puts both teams scoring at 43.3% and over 2.5 goals at 59.1%.

All five AI models pick a 2-0 home win, with only the confidence differing:

  • Claude Keeper: 76% home, 16% draw, 8% away, citing Como’s form, position and ratings against a depleted Venezia.
  • Gemini Thunder: 75/15/10, pointing to Como’s superior attack and defence ratings.
  • GPT Striker: 75/15/10, highlighting Como’s home advantage and solid defence.
  • Kimi Cool: 72/18/10, slightly more cautious on the home price.
  • DeepThinker: 70/20/10, the lowest home probability on the sheet, though still a clear favourite.

The spread between the most and least confident model is only six points on the home win. When every model agrees on both the result and the scoreline, the question is less who wins than whether Como convert their dominance into a margin.

What to watch on the day

The first thing to watch is whether Como’s attack keeps scoring. They have scored three or more in two of their last three games, and Venezia concede more than two a game on average. An early Como goal would test a side that has scored just six all season and would need to chase the game with a weakened squad.

Second, Venezia’s response under a new coach. Nicola’s win over Napoli showed this group can defend a lead, but the Genoa and Inter results show how thin they are when key players are missing. A compact, low-block plan is the likeliest route to a draw, and the model gives that outcome only 15.3%.

Third, the goals market. The baseline’s 59.1% for over 2.5 goals is driven mostly by Como’s expected total of 2.42, while the 43.3% chance of both teams scoring reflects how rarely Venezia find the net. A 2-0 or 3-0 home win fits those numbers better than a high-scoring game.

Predict.game will grade each of these predictions against the final score after the match, so the unanimous 2-0 call will be tested on the day.
