Getafe vs Sevilla preview: a stumbling home side meets a top-six visitor

Getafe, 18th and short of goals, host sixth-placed Sevilla at the Coliseum on 1 November. Form, absences, head-to-head and the model forecasts.

In short

  • Getafe have scored only 5 goals in 10 league games and are 18th on 9 points; Sevilla are sixth on 17.
  • Getafe's defensive list is long, with Orel Mangala and Zaid Romero out and Djené reported suspended.
  • All five models pick Sevilla; four forecast 0-1 and GPT Striker forecasts 1-2.

Two clubs on opposite trajectories

Getafe host Sevilla at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez on 1 November (13:00 UTC) in round 11 of LaLiga. The league table points in one direction. Getafe are 18th with 9 points from 10 games (two wins, three draws, five defeats). They have scored just five goals and conceded 15. Sevilla are sixth with 17 points from the same number of games (five wins, two draws, three defeats), and their goal difference is level at 16 for and 16 against.

Recent results fit that picture. Getafe’s last five league results read L, D, L, W, L. The latest was a 4-0 defeat at Athletic Club on 25 October. Before that came a 1-1 home draw with Rayo Vallecano and a 3-0 loss at Barcelona. Their one recent win was 1-0 at home to Málaga on 20 September.

Sevilla’s form is mixed but better. They beat Osasuna 2-0 at home on 26 October. That followed a 4-1 defeat at Real Madrid and a 3-3 draw at Levante. Before those, they lost 3-1 at home to Barcelona and won 1-0 at Deportivo La Coruña. Their attack is a respectable if unspectacular force, while Getafe’s own attacking rating in the site’s model is the lower of the two.

Getafe’s absences and Sevilla’s rebuilt squad

The most pressing issue for Pepe Bordalás is at the back. [1] reported on 25 October that Djené was suspended after a red card, and that Orel Mangala and Zaid Romero were unavailable through injury. Whether Djené’s ban still applies on 1 November is not confirmed in our input, but Mangala and Romero are the more worrying names. Dani Carvajal is another watch point. [2] noted he started his first match back but asked to be substituted with cramps, and that is listed as doubtful.

Bordalás does have a settled attacking trio to lean on. [3] expected Martín Satriano, Iván Azón and Enes Ünal to start together, and said Azón has established himself in the first eleven. The problem is output rather than selection: five goals in ten games is a thin return.

Sevilla, under Luís García, have been busy in the market. Marca confirmed that Jon Guridi, Giorgi Kochorashvili, Juan Iglesias and Sangante were signed, and that Lucas Stassin and Fran Gonzalez also arrived. [4] reported that Youssouf Fofana joined on loan from Milan, and Julio Díaz came from Atlético de Madrid this summer. Miguel Sierra is described as a regular starter. A squad with that much turnover can be uneven, which would help explain the 4-1 and 3-3 results in October.

Head-to-head and what the models say

The recent head-to-head is split. Sevilla won 1-0 at Getafe on 22 February 2026. Getafe won 2-1 at Sevilla on 25 August 2025. Some of the model write-ups lean on Sevilla “dominance” in this fixture, but two meetings do not show that.

All five prediction models back an away win. Claude Keeper (46% away), Kimi Cool (44%), Gemini Thunder (45%), GPT Striker (45%) and DeepThinker (45%) are tightly clustered. Four forecast a 0-1 scoreline and GPT Striker goes for 1-2. Their reasoning is consistent: Sevilla’s better attack, Getafe’s defensive absences and Getafe’s poor form and low scoring.

The Poisson baseline, built only from recorded results, is much more cautious. It gives 1.06 expected goals for Getafe and 1.13 for Sevilla, with outcome probabilities of 33.6% home, 29.2% draw and 37.2% away. Its single most likely scoreline is 1-1, though 0-1 is its most likely scoreline within an away win. Both teams scoring comes out at 44.2%, and over 2.5 goals at 37.5%. That points to a low-scoring game.

What it means

For Getafe, the situation is stark. Eighteenth place and nine points leave them in the relegation fight, and five goals scored is the clearest warning sign. Playing without key defenders makes a clean sheet harder, and without goals a draw looks like their realistic target. A 4-0 loss at Athletic last time out adds pressure, but Getafe have only conceded three or more goals in their two away defeats, so the Coliseum has been a firmer base.

For Sevilla, sixth place on 17 points is a solid platform. Their form line, WLDLW, shows they can be beaten by the top sides but also that they can reset quickly, as the Osasuna win showed. This game asks whether they can turn a favourable matchup into three points away from home, against an opponent who rarely scores.

The models agree on the winner but not on the margin. The most likely outcome is a narrow Sevilla win, with a draw a real possibility given how cautiously the baseline reads it.
