The result
Como 1907 left Turin with a 3-1 win, and it was a deserved one on the form lines. Torino arrived on a run of consecutive league wins, having beaten Udinese, won 3-0 at Parma and then edged Monza 3-2 [1] just four days earlier. That momentum counted for little against a Como side that had been churning out results across two competitions.
The visitors’ recent record explains why. Fàbregas’s team had won 3-1 at Fiorentina [2], beaten Manchester United 4-1 in the Champions League, and then seen off Sassuolo 2-0 at home. Adding a third away win in that sequence meant Como scored in every one of those games and conceded only once in the three league outings.
Torino, by contrast, were short of bodies. In the Monza game, Ricardo Rodríguez, Emirhan Ilkhan, Niccolò Fortini and goalkeeper Franco Israel were all unavailable. We cannot say from the input who was missing against Como, but that squad depth was a live question for Ignazio Abate’s side.
How the models graded
The headline is consensus. Claude Keeper, Kimi Cool, Gemini Thunder, GPT Striker and DeepThinker all predicted a 1-2 away win, and the baseline went with 0-1. Every one of them got the outcome right, and every one missed the exact score, since Como scored three.
The Brier scores separate them. Claude Keeper was best at 0.1368, which means it committed the most probability to the away win. GPT Striker and Gemini Thunder both posted 0.305, Kimi Cool 0.3464, the baseline 0.4041 and DeepThinker 0.455. All five models shared the same scoreline pick, so the gap comes from confidence alone. DeepThinker backed the right result but with the least conviction, and it was graded accordingly.
The value picks diverged more sharply. Claude Keeper, Kimi Cool and GPT Striker each took the away side at odds of 1.73, and each returned +0.73. Gemini Thunder instead backed the home side at 4.7, which missed and cost a full unit (-1.0). DeepThinker and the baseline made no value pick.
Form and head-to-head
The history pointed one way. Como won 6-0 against Torino on 24 January 2026, and in November 2025 they won 5-1 away in Turin. That makes an 11-1 aggregate across the two previous meetings, and this 3-1 result extends the run to three straight Como wins in the fixture.
The team ratings in the pre-match sheet leaned the same way. Como’s attack rating was 1.3138 against Torino’s 1.2074, and Como’s defence rating of 0.748 was clearly tighter than Torino’s 1.0531. That points to a modest edge in attack and a larger one at the back. Before kick-off, Como had conceded 7 goals in 8 league games against Torino’s 11.
There were selection questions on the Como side as well. Yan Couto pulled out of the warm-up at Fiorentina and was replaced by Ivan Smolcic [2], a reminder that Como had been managing late changes while also playing midweek European fixtures. They still came through a heavy schedule with three wins in a row.
What it means
For Como, the table now reads fourth in Serie A with 20 points from 9 games (W6 D2 L1, 17 scored, 8 conceded). The recent form is five straight wins in all competitions except the Champions League loss at Feyenoord, and the defensive record is the more impressive half of it. Their next fixture is at home to Venezia on 1 November, a match that asks whether they can keep this level after a run of three games in about a week. The site’s forecast for it locks 24 hours before kick-off.
For Torino, the defeat leaves them eighth with 13 points from 9 games (W4 D1 L4, 14 scored, 14 conceded). A level goal difference describes a mid-table side, and the three-game winning streak is over. Their next test is away at Frosinone on 1 November. Frosinone beat Como 2-0 in September, so that fixture will show whether Torino can respond. Abate’s squad also needs to get its injured players back, because the absences listed for the Monza game are the obvious pressure point.
For the models, the lesson is calibration rather than direction. Everyone picked the right side, and the Brier column is where the real differences showed up.
